This seems more efficient, since almost always when I drive the Celica I also have the puppy as a passenger.
What’s there to say of the Celica? Nothing new is broken and I’m fairly certain I fixed the leaky sunroof. Still other things to get done, but it’s a wonderful driver as is. I haven’t lost any clutch fluid since I topped it off last month, so I’m wondering if it was just really low when i bought it. In any casw, shifting has been no issue. I remain on the hunt for some louvers. If anyone comes across anything, feel free to let me know.
And now the puppy. As a novice dog-owner, I get frustrated pretty easily. She’s getting a wee bit rebellious but if I hold strong I can contain her madness. Couldn’t photograph it, but she finally is sticking her head out of the window of the Celica when we’re driving, like a happy dog! This is amazing progress for a dog that seemed unenthusiastic riding in vehicles. She now gets in and out with a minimum of fuss. Well... occasional fuss.
She’s really gained a lot of confidence these last two months. A pain in the ass, but she is a good dog. Not a mean bone in her body.

My dog can push my buttons like no child I’ve ever taught has managed. And she doesn't do the head out the window thing either...but that's probably because I don't have a Celica.

early 80's Celica is my favorite Celica.

The Celica has grown on me, it went from “neat” to “constantly looking at Japanese car classifieds” in under a month. Although, it has stiff competition in the form of 929's, A70 Supra’s, and DR30's.

My pre-Doug avatar was my dog dangling out my window.
He’s good about staying in the back once I get in the car. Loves sticking his big head out the window.
We haven’t been on many rides lately since the car I use to transport him keeps breaking. Current failure is an exhaust leak.

Our pup had his anti-car days, as well. He eventually learned that the car meant going somewhere, and only somewhat recently discovered the joy of the head out the window. He’s about 10 months old.

Excuse my ignorance, but would contemporaneous Supra louvres fit? My anecdotal experience makes me believe they are more common.

Well yeah Supras of the same era had the same hatch glass and body and whatnot. I’ve been looking up those too.

Real efficiency would be teaching the dog to drive the Celica.
I've always wondered if louvres would impair visibility or just prevent heating from the sun, or maybe do neither.

My buddy had a faded sky blue Celica Supra with louvres in high school, but unfortunatelyI think it’s long since hit the scrap heap. Cool car, I was always little jeolous of it. Good on ya for keeping the ‘80s alive.

They don’t impair visibility much, but do offer a lot of sun protection. And privacy, for those of us that might have to carry some valuable tools in the rear, just in case.

He is most of the time. He still has his moments, like when he inexplicably ate my glasses last fall.

Dogs know their role, and play it. No surprise that she sticks her head out the window.

Cool. In our texas summers, the sun protection alone could be worth it.

My dog hates my Z. It’s loud and I’m sure with his sense of smell the gas has not gone away. I changed the whole fuel filler system and redid the rear end seals etc so I don’t smell much anymore. My wife hasn’t complained so I know it. But the stiff ride and noise changes his body language.

Yeah, and my car has heated seats. I look at the switches and just laugh.

When I had them, they were only used for trolling passengers.
